Fees & Scheduling

Private Lessons and Information

The fee for a private lesson is $50 an hour or $30 a half hour. Payment by cash or check is due at the time of each lesson unless other arrangements have been made in advance. There are no contracts to sign. You may start or stop at any time. As long as you want to continue to take lessons, I will continue to teach you what I know.

Scheduling is flexible; there is no fixed rule as to the frequency or number of classes you have to take. Each student progresses at his or her own rate. In addition there are health, time, and financial factors to consider. I schedule classes in discussion with you to find what is best for you.

It is important that your expectations be practical. I teach a popular style of t'ai chi called the traditional Yang family long form, which is made up of 85 postures (or 103 postures depending upon how they are grouped when counted). It takes time, patience, and perseverance to learn this form. It is not something you can sprint through in six to eight weeks.

Lessons will be held at Jarvis Creek Park on Hilton Head Island or at the student's private residence or at some other agreed upon convenient location. For any other questions, please contact me by clicking here.

More Information

  • For our island guests, I offer private lessons specially designed for you. If t'ai chi has been something you've heard about and considered doing, now is the time to do it. Make a t'ai chi lesson part of your vacation stay on Hilton Head. You will learn about t'ai chi and have fun at the same time.

  • I primarily give private lessons; however, if you have a group of people interested in starting a class, I would like to hear from you.

  • If you are interested in conducting a workshop or demonstration event, I offer that as well.

  • If the fee for private lessons presents as a problem for you, but you are serious about wanting to learn t'ai chi, we can perhaps agree upon a workable fee.
